IN A NUTSHELL
Two different world views can be observed in business. The first is the logic and reason of the Vulcan. It predominates in Finance, Operations and the C-suite. The second predominates among Marketing, Sales and HR. They recognize that business is done on Earth and that Earthling behavior is frequently a function of more than just logic.
It is a myth that logic and emotion cannot co-exist. In fact, we argue that business success must be built on strategies that satisfy both our Vulcan need for logic and our Earthling need for meaning.
